Come & Try Woodwork
Our beginners class. For those wanting a cool thing to do with a friend or if you're not sure if woodworking is for you, this practical class will leave you with new skills and a beautiful serving paddle.
Introduction to woodwork
If you're new to woodworking or just inexperienced and are looking to get a head start, Over 8 week's we'll learn the basis of taking rough timber and turning it into an object, looking at each step along the way.
Timber Prep Essentials
In Machining 101, You'll be guided on how to safely use a planer and Thicknesser to accurately and efficiently turn rough timber into useable boards for your projects.
Using Japanese Waterstones and a honing guide, you'll learn what means to have a sharp edge on your chisels and plane blades. Adequately sharpened edges make the world of difference to your woodworking.
From deciding what to purchase to setting it up for accurate results, jig's and everything in between. This is a must for those wanting to purchase or who already own a tablesaw.
Even if you're comfortable with a bit of DIY around the home, in this class we'll explore how to get the most from these ordinary tools during your woodworking projects. Safety and accuracy is a major focus of this class.
Router Essentials #1
A router may seem like a scary tool, but you'll quickly discover why you'll become best friends! From Edge profiles to basic joinery, in this class you'll learn to safely handle and use this tool at a basic level.
Router Essentials #2
JIgs, Bits & More JIgs! In this masterclass we'll explore how to make and use effective and safe routing jigs and have a deep dive into the router table (not literally of course).
Build your own workbench
During this weekend Long Class, You'll craft your own workbench, made from structural laminated Pine and a quality plywood work surface. This is a knockdown workbench and we'll make our own hardware to facilitate the knockdown style of connection. The end assemblies of the workbench will be joined using loose mortise and tenon construction made with a router or Festool domino machine.
