The content for the four weeks will consist of the tool box project portion of the 10 week course and will cover the following.
-Selecting, machining & cutting timber
-Creating a rebate joint and groove using the router table and tablesaw.
-Shaping using a bandsaw and handplane
-Creating a mortise using a plunge router
-Creating a wedged through tenon
-Reinforcing joints with concealed screws using plug systems.
-Surface preparation and applying a hardwax oil finish.
If there is time left over, we may install some additional storage trays inside the toolbox to divide up the space.
This is a project designed to exercise lots of techniques and processes, commonly used in creating furniture and is the final project of the 10 week course for that reason.
This class is only open to those ages 18 or over.
