The heart of many workshops, the Table Saw is a versatile piece of equipment used by woodworkers around the globe from sizing material or creating joinery and everything else in between.

If you are planning on, or have recently purchased your own table saw, or already own one and would like a refresher, this class is for you.

Over two hours we will explore how to safely operate the table saw, learn about kickback and how to avoid it, take a look at common table saw jigs and how to use them safely and of course how to get your saw tuned up for best performance.

  • What type of blade do I need to use and when?

  • Why don't I get square cuts?

  • What is kickback and how can I prevent it?

  • Do I really need a push stick?

  • I get lots of burning, what am I doing wrong?

What we aim to cover in this class:

  • The anatomy of the table saw and what each component does

  • Correct setup and tuning of the machine

  • Blade selection

  • Body positioning, stance and safety

  • Safe & correct feeding of material both infeed and out

  • Jigs for the table saw

  • Much, much more!

What you'll need to bring:

  • Stay hydrated, bring a water bottle

  • Snacks to keep you going are welcomed

  • A notebook is great for taking down tips and tricks

  • A list of any questions you have so you don't forget to ask them!

Important Information:

  • Minimum attendance age is 18 Years.

  • Please wear appropriate clothing for the workshop!

  • Enclosed shoes are a requirement to enter the workshop

  • Please remove any loose hanging jewellery and tie back long hair
