Improve accuracy and results while having more fun with sharp tools, an essential skill.

Introduction

Imagine the satisfaction of effortlessly gliding through your workpiece with sharp, precise tools. Our experience tells us that using sharp tools not only enhances safety but also elevates the entire woodworking experience.

What we'll look at

With a keen focus on the maintenance and utilization of waterstones, our workshop will equip you with the knowledge and techniques needed to create razor-sharp edges on your plane blades and chisels.

Why waterstones, you ask? Well, for the home woodworker, waterstones offer an array of advantages. They are affordable, easy to maintain, and provide a forgiving sharpening experience, making them an ideal choice for beginners and seasoned enthusiasts alike.

Simple, repeatable techniques

Throughout the workshop, we will dive into various topics, including stone storage and flattening techniques. You'll discover the art of using jigs to securely hold your chisels or plane blades, ensuring consistent and precise sharpening results.

We'll guide you through the sharpening process from start to finish, unraveling the secrets behind achieving impeccable edges. Whether you're a novice or an experienced woodworker, this workshop will provide valuable insights and practical skills.

And that's not all – we'll even explore the art of stropping, adding that final touch of refinement to your newly sharpened tools. Learn how to achieve that mirror-like finish and take your sharpening expertise to the next level.
